How We Build Glow Workwear
We strive for a more inclusive world.
Glow Workwear does not have all the designs, stories, body types, right words yet to complete our company journey of working toward greater inclusivity while working. We aspire for gender equality - at home and in the workplace. The answer for us is to view gender equality as intersectional with other groups, BIPOC and LBGTQ who - make, write, talk, work, fight, protest - for their inherent bodily rights and recognition of who they are.
Guiding Principles
Every body is a good body – and every body changes. Our designs seek to consider and accommodate the perpetual fluctuations and long-term changes our bodies undergo, because we work best when we feel at home in our bodies and in our clothes.
We know, however, that not every design works for every person. We create high quality workwear through design problem-solving, and we believe that the more designers and companies who are working and innovating in this arena, the better. Because everyone deserves to feel good in the workwear they work in.
Great design means real world readiness, and that means clothes that are built to go just as hard as you do, with innovative fabrics that boldly face down the roughest, toughest, dirtiest jobs. , That also means pockets. Because pockets!
Flexibility is freedom – especially at the waist. The very inspiration for Glow grew out of our own desire to never suffer through another day on the job in pinchy-waisted work pants. Most of our designs have 1-3 inches of movement in the waistband, from relaxed to extended, so you can harness the power of your core and never feel constricted or exposed.
Design it. Make It
Designs are made out of real life work scenarios. We start with design details to fix problems - feel against body, hot, cold, bending, pinching, phones, snacks, etc. We work to find the most resilient fabrics that bring the designs to life. We love thinking about all the amazing body shapes. Then we design and measure in hopes of fitting more body shapes than one into a single garment. Then it’s a cycle of Testing. Fixing. Making. Testing. Fixing. Making. When finished - it’s production time!
